1920's Beaded Cloche Hat
I purchased this hat at the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Expo in October 2007. On inspecting it closely, I believe that it's a construction of three different hats pieced together. On the other hand, it could simply be a hat that was never used. But I really don't think so. I think the dealer's wife got creative and did a great job on taking parts of hats that were good and assembling them: liner, base of felt, overlay of felt, and overlay of newer ribbon with a beaded oversize buckle embellishment. I really like it, and the dealer came down on the price also. Very very nice people to deal with. I was happy to purchase from such nice people. And thinking it over, all the dealers I met were incredibly nice throughout the afternoon.
