WWII PO1 Aerographer's Mate Patch SIGNED FELT

Item: 1 ea: ORIGINAL WWII Petty Officer First Class Aerographer's Mate Patch SIGNED Insignia Patch, Designated Mark, Specialty Mark. This item is particularly unusual because the edges of the patch were never bound or sewed.
Color is much more rich and patch is more pristine than picture shows. I'm guessing that the patch is felt?*Please ask any questions so I can test the fabric.
